Sweden

I won´t bore you with a lot of facts & figures. Let´s just say, in summary, that Swedish tourism generally is rapidly growing and has more or less doubled in numbers and value over the last ten years. Incoming tourism, to Sweden from other countries, stands for almost 20% of the total and increased by approximately 10% the last year.

You´ll find comprehensive Sweden facts at the following sites:

The Right of Public Access “Allemansrätten” – A unique institution, under certain conditions giving us freedom to roam the countryside. By most Swedes considered a national symbol, deeply rooted in our souls. Sprung out of tradition & praxis, now included in Swedish law since 1994. Don´t disturb – don´t destroy!

Hotels in Stockholm are quite expensive, but an excellent alternative is the hostel Af Chapman, an ancient ship, at prime location opposite to the Royal Castle. Popular, make a reservation in advance.
